COVID-19 NOTICE

As you are probably aware, COVID-19 cases are increasing in Northwest Arkansas. We have said from the beginning that this will be a socially distanced event. Please keep your safety and the safety of others in mind. If you even think you have been exposed or are not feeling well, please do not attend.

These are the steps we have taken:

  • All individual booths will be about 10 feet apart.
  • Masks are required.
  • We will have hand sanitizer in multiple places throughout the event.
  • Concessions have been canceled.
  • All vendors agreed to follow guidelines to participate.
  • The silent auction has been available online for bidding and for the in-person auction, we are spreading items as far apart as possible.

A Community Coming Together

Because of COVID-19, all the fundraisers to benefit Shop with a Cop had to be canceled this year. We all know, however, that the need is never canceled. In fact, this year it is expected that the needs in our communities will be even greater than ever before.

This fundraiser will have multiple components and is being led by two community members. We at EABN are helping by hosting this page to provide a centralized information hub for what everyone hopes is an amazing, safe event for everyone. Questions about getting help from the Shop from a Cop program should be referred to the Elkins Police Department.

You can find ongoing updates in the Facebook event and the various links, rules, and other information about the various components of this community event on this page.

There will be several ways to participate and contribute:
  • Toy/Clothing donation boxes set up throughout the community
  • Vendor booths (November 21 in the Elkins Community Center Parking lot)
  • Silent auction (items will be shared in the Facebook event and also several opportunities to bid in person)
  • Individual businesses doing their own fundraiser and donating the proceeds
  • Direct donations from individuals.

Toy/Clothing Donation boxes

Shop with a Cop will look somewhat different this year. The current plan is to take a small number of children on a socially distanced shopping trip if possible. The police department will deliver clothes and toys to the homes for those children unable to go on the shopping excursion. There will be marked boxes to donate unwrapped, unopened, new toys and clothing around the community starting October 13. We also have a growing number of cash donation cans around town, too.

Look for toy/clothing donation boxes in a growing number of local businesses including:

  • Collier’s Drug Store-Elkins
  • Tequila Grill
  • Nellie B’s
  • Medical Arts Pharmacy-Elkins
  • Elkins Farmers Market
  • Elkins Auto Parts
  • Happy Feet Daycare (both locations)

We also have several cash donation cans at these following locations:

  • Tequila Grill
  • Elkins Pawn Shop
  • Nellie B’s Bakery and Eatery
  • Lucky Dog Groomer
  • Eastside Wine & Spirits
  • Collier’s Pharmacy-Elkins

Vendor Booths

We will have vendor booths 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, November 21, in the Elkins Community Center parking lot. Social distancing guidelines must be followed.

Here are the general guidelines:

  • Booths will be available in two sizes: 10×10 feet (standard) and 10×20 feet (large). A single 10×10 space is required between each vendor. All tables, chairs, and other items are the responsibility of the vendor.
  • Booths are $25 for a standard and $50 for a large. No refunds will be given for cancellations after November 14 or no-shows. This is a booth fee, not an application fee. Payment is not due until an application is approved.
  • Preference will be given to product-based businesses but any are welcome to apply in case we have space  (must have products to sell at the event).
  • Preference will be given to Elkins-based businesses but any are welcome to apply.
  • Only one booth per MLM/Direct Sales company (uplines/downlines can work together in one booth).
  • No electricity or wifi will be available.
  • Approved vendors are encouraged but not required to make a donation to Shop with a Cop beyond the required booth fee. This could include donating a silent auction item.

Applications: https://forms.gle/VpSG8aZJ3Nv6aYadA (All spaces are currently filled. You can apply to be on the waitlist)

Applications will be taken up to a couple of days before the event and a waitlist will be established if the number of available booths is exceeded.

Business fundraisers

Are you a business that wants to host your own fundraiser to benefit Elkins Shop with a Cop? This is a great chance for service-based businesses or a bigger variety of product-based businesses to participate. We want to share about your event but we need details! The organizers of this community event will not be responsible for creating the promotional items but will be happy to share submitted information.

Direct donation

Some community members would love to simply donate directly to the Shop with a Cop program. Checks can be made out to Elkins Police Department with “Shop with a Cop” clearly noted in the memo line. Please contact the Elkins Police Department to learn more.
